Eyelit’s Innovative Intellectual Property (IP) protection capabilities will enhance collaboration activities between established and future members of the C2MI.
Toronto, Canada – Eyelit Inc., a manufacturing software provider for visibility, control, and coordination of manufacturing operations for the aerospace & defense, discrete electronics, semiconductor, and photovoltaic (solar) industries, announced that the MiQro Innovation Collaborative Centre (C2MI) has selected Eyelit Manufacturing™ software to support research and development, and the commercial activities of sponsor companies collaborating at C2MI’s state-of-the-art MEMS facility.
The C2MI is an international beacon in the development of advanced microsystems. The C2MI strives to create a global Center of Excellence for Commercialization and Research (CECR) in 200mm-based microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) and 3D wafer level packaging of silicon chips. Eyelit’s software will be used to help produce prototypes and advance the commercialization of devices in fields such as information and communication technologies, automotive, aerospace, environment, and healthcare. Eyelit’s unique data partitioning capability was of paramount importance in this unique collaborative environment, as it will protect the Intellectual Property of C2MI members. The following are some other key features that gave Eyelit a competitive advantage during the rigorous selection process:
- Modular system with an advanced technology architecture
- Extensive capabilities including MES, SPC, and Asset Management
- Out-of-the-box functionality enabling a fast and cost-effective deployment
- User interface that supports the concurrent display of multiple languages
- Web-based software that does not require third-party software to access production data
- Provide native bilingual User Interface (French and English)
As a member at C2MI, Teledyne DALSA will benefit from Eyelit’s software and its capabilities to launch complex MEMS devices on the market for its customers. “With Eyelit’s software, 90% of our requirements are met with out-of-the-box features, including real-time access to reliable production information,” stated Christian Veilleux, Director of Operation for Teledyne DALSA of the “Microsystem Integration Lab” in C2MI. “Eyelit’s IP protection firewall between potential users at C2MI is critical for future system users, and it runs on any hardware platform, including VMware, Windows, and Linux. Eyelit’s expertise, professionalism, and clear business roadmap were also important determinants in the selection process.”
“Eyelit has a proven track record in helping both manufacturers and research and development consortia,” stated Dan Estrada, Eyelit’s Vice-President of Sales and Marketing. “Our cost-effective, flexible solution with special processing capabilities successfully addresses the complexities of R&D for the fabrication of MEMS, semiconductor, and photovoltaic (solar) devices. With recent deployments at SEMATECH, CEA-Leti, and now C2MI, Eyelit is clearly leading the industry in providing systems to support collaborative R&D.”
