JOB SUMMARY
The Electronic Assembly Process Engineer acts as a front-line advisor to internal or external stakeholders in files or projects related to his or her area of expertise. He brings ideas and contributes to problem solving through his analysis and in-depth knowledge of his field of expertise. It develops the tools, policies and practices related to its field of activity.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify the manufacturing strategy in line with processes, standards and customer requirements;
- To act as a technical reference in the application of production norms and standards;
- Participate and support technical feasibility studies with the business development group;
- Validate technical documentation information from customers and participate in the introduction of new products;
- Define the processes and treatments that will be used to carry out the production;
- Identify and evaluate the specific tooling required;
- Define, write and revise manufacturing and assembly routings;
- Collect and validate information from production documents and support the documentation team in the preparation of production files (work orders, plans, drawings, methods, processes, etc.);
- Participate in the production of visual aids;
- Participate and collaborate with teams in problem solving and root cause analysis while ensuring data integrity;
- Participate in product change impact assessments and implement notification of changes and modifications;
- Analyze and support the different manufacturing problems;
- Ensure compliance with working standards and procedures as well as the safety standards in force when scheduling operations according to manufacturing processes;
- Keep up to date and lookout for new technologies and industrial processes;
- Train employees on work procedures and methods;
- Participate and collaborate in the implementation of new assembly processes;
- Participate and collaborate actively in continuous improvement projects.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, specialized in Electronics or similar education
- 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in a similar position
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Experience in manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of electronic assembly processes
- Knowledge of mechanical integration (asset)
- Knowledge of the electronic environment and standards (IPC)
- IT knowledge (PLM, ERP, MES)
- Ability to make decisions/meaning of priorities
- Adaptation to change
- Teamwork and responsibility
- Results-oriented
- Organizational skills
Bilingualism French/English – spoken and written - Synthesis and analysis skills
