We offer an integrated chain of research and innovation to promote the development of microsystems and nanotechnology with a stimulating human environment and world-class resources. The Interdisciplinary Institute for Technological Innovation forms a multidisciplinary community, including in micro-nanotechnologies, and offers open platforms for micro-nanofabrication and characterization of microsystems and materials (3IT.nano), combined with laboratories for microelectronics packaging, electrical and mechanical prototyping, as well as full-scale evaluation. The Quantum Institute combines fundamental discoveries in physics and quantum computing with technologies required for their implementation. To support industrial and applied research, MiQro Innovation Collaborative Center co-founded with Teledyne DALSA and IBM offers a unique environment for industrial collaboration and transition from the laboratory to the market by offering a unique infrastructure of production-grade equipment for development and prototyping of MEMS (200mm substrates) and next-generation microelectronics packaging. Innovation and entrepreneurship are at the heart of Université de Sherbrooke’s culture, as demonstrated by the creation of over 50 start-ups in 5 years, supported by the Accelerator for Creation of Technological Companies.
